John 20:11-18, Intimately Known

“Jesus said to her, “Mary.”

Turning around, she said to him in Aramaic,  “Rabboni! ”  #— #which means “Teacher.”  Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord! ”  And she told them what he had said to her.”

‭‭John‬ ‭20‬:‭16‬, ‭18‬ ‭CSB‬‬

Read Context

Earlier in John, Jesus says, “my sheep hear my voice and they know me and follow me”,  what a perfect example of that principle.  Jesus calls her name, He speaks to her as intimately as a close friend, and everything changes for Mary.  Jesus intimately knows each of us the same way!  If we really understood, it would instantly transform our lives from chaos to calm, from pain to peace, from anxious to abiding.

Lord, allow me to never forget Your personal care and knowledge of who I am.  Help me to rest in knowing You.
