I Thessalonians 5- Be Patient & Give Thanks

14 We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
15 See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people.
16 Rejoice always;
17 pray without ceasing;
18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

I Thessalonians 2- Share the Gospel to Please God, not man

3 For our exhortation does not come from error or impurity or by way of deceit;
4 but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who examines our hearts.

We have all been given a high calling to share the Gospel here on Earth.  Telling others about God's Son and His sacrifice for our sin...That He rose again just a scripture foretold, is the only truly important thing in this life.  We can't share with the lost once we are in Heaven, this is our only chance...

Lord, help me to please you above all others.  Give me opportunities to share the Gospel and give me the strength and courage to take them without reservation.  You know my heart, let it be found seeking only You!

Colossians 2- Dead in Sin to Alive in Him!

13 When you were dead in your transgressions..., He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,
14 having canceled out the certificate of debt...; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

To be captivated by our salvation is transformational in our spiritual life. We must understand the true blessing of what God has done for us through His Son, Jesus Christ.  Salvation not only removed our sin, but made us perfect...something that should grip us all.

Lord, cause this truth to direct my worship to only You!

Colossians 1- Rescued by Jesus!

 9 For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously
12  giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.
13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Psalm 59- God is my strength

    16 But as for me, I shall sing of Your strength;
         Yes, I shall joyfully sing of Your lovingkindness in the morning,
         For You have been my stronghold
         And a refuge in the day of my distress.
    17 O my strength, I will sing praises to You;
         For God is my stronghold, the God who shows me lovingkindness.

Joshua 6- Simple Obedience to Gods Plan

 15Then on the seventh day they rose early at the dawning of the day and marched around the city in the same manner seven times; only on that day they marched around the city seven times.
 16At the seventh time, when the priests blew the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, "Shout! For the LORD has given you the city.
...
 20So the people shouted, and priests blew the trumpets; and when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted with a great shout and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight ahead, and they took the city.

God seems to have an interesting methodology of doing just about everything.  It is not what would be the most logical to me.  This piece of history is one example where God asked His people to do something out of the ordinary, but when they obeyed, everything was perfect.  The city walls fell, the Israelites were able to storm the city and it was captured.

We need to be prepared to see what God is asking us to do.  It may not make sense to us feeble minded humans, but God is always in control.  He has a plan for our lives.  We simply need to obey Him in all that we do and we will be rewarded with the peace of resting in His plan.

Revelation 14- Presenting the Gospel

6 And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people;  7 and he said with a loud voice, "Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters."

Sorry for the absence, we have a new foster baby and 6am is my feeding shift.  I hope to continue to write as time permits...

What an amazing scene.  God is coming to the Earth to finish off Satan and judge the entire world.  Yet He has still has directed one of His angels to be presenting the gospel.  The Good News, that Christ died for our sins to take away the eternal punishment we deserve, rose again, just a Scripture had proclaimed for hundreds of years and now is seated a the right hand of God waiting for His Glorious Return.

Lord give me the opportunity to share Christ, and the faith to follow you when that time comes.
