“Teacher,” they said to him, “this woman was caught in the act of committing adultery.
When Jesus stood up, he said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, Lord,” she answered. “Neither do I condemn you,” said Jesus. “Go, and from now on do not sin anymore.”

Jesus came to pay the penalty for our sin, but also to help us know who God is and how He acts. We sometimes imagine that God is in heaven looking for opportunities to punish us for failing or sinning…but this passage helps us to see His compassion, mercy and love.
He does desire that we stop sinning, but He sees our brokenness and wants what is best for us! Lord thank You for being more compassionate than I would be. Thank you for loving me and being patient with me even when I don’t deserve it.
